The impact of the war with Iran on coffee...

The impacts of the war with Iran are widespread.  Apparently there are toilet paper shortages in Japan (!) and here in Australia we've felt an almost immediate increase in petrol prices...

We're also seeing this play out in the world of green coffee.  Our main supplier of Ethiopian beans has let us know about significant delays.  Their beans are not even on ships, and are grounded in Ethiopia for the foreseeable future.  The conflict is driving a shortage in shipping container availability and significant increases in the cost of fuel and insurance.  We expect that green coffee prices will begin to rise in the near future.

We'll keep you informed as our green coffee suppliers share more information over the coming weeks and months.  We've been proactive in increasing our green bean inventory to buffer against supply shocks.
