I've been a little slack on writing newsletters recently. My apologies. I'm going to try to write a little less, but more frequently. So today I'm focusing on the new coffee roaster that I bought late last year.
There are two features which I think are just outstanding (other than being able to roast so much more coffee than I was able to with the last roaster).
The first is the massive set of flues (one is shown above) that I have exiting the roaster and the cooler. I recently cleaned the roaster and the flues were spotless. They're so clean because they are very large diameter, they're short, and they are rigid.
The second is the fantastic post roast cooling that the roaster is capable of. The machine has a very large cooling fan and mixing arms which mean that the hot beans which emerge from the roasting drum are cooled very quickly. The mixing arms also drive the beans out of the cooling tray without me having to do anything which enhances my roasting workflow a heap!
