Our family favourite

The Ethiopian Natural has become our house favourite, narrowly edging out a couple others from Garage Roasters [to be reviewed separately], but not by much. That should not be read as any criticism of the Ethiopian Natural, but a complement of how good the others also are. Initially dialled in at 15 (our stepped grinder’s nominal setting for espresso), I have since moved to a setting of 17. Brew temperature is set at the nominal 93 degrees, but I suspect a slightly higher temperature would also be suitable. On the all-important wife’s happiness index, she absolutely loves the resulting espresso, finding it very smooth with no sourness or bitterness, with just enough unique character to set it apart from others. Having tested nearly all the roasts from Garage Roasters, we now have a monthly subscription that includes a variety of roasts. The Ethiopian Natural sits atop that selection.

Good to great

Sometimes excellent, sometimes just good. The best so far have been ethiopian coffees with complexity and delightful texture.

Amazing coffee

I bought the single origin coffee ground for espresso as I haven’t yet bought a grinder. The coffee was delicious. Looking forward to ordering beans once I have my own grinder
