Maraschino cherry...

Maraschino cherry...

Ethiopia... this was the origin that caused me to fall completely in love with coffee...

I very distinctly remember attending a coffee tasting at Campos' Newtown Café and tasting a natural process Ethiopian Harrar for the first time.  The key tasting note... blueberry muffin.  It was so striking and wonderful and that flavour imprint will stay with me as long as I maintain my marbles!

The hunt for wonderful Ethiopian coffees since that fateful day (I'm guessing it was a decade and a half ago) has been a ridiculous journey.  Part of that journey being the decision to roast coffee!  Subsequently, we've been able to identify some key green bean partners who provide amazing raw produce for us to work with.

Our latest Coffee Prototypers coffee, a natural anaerobic process Yirgacheffe Tulisi, is a great example of high end Ethiopian coffee.  It's intense, with flavour notes of peach, caramel and maraschino cherry and it represents everything we love about coffees from Yirgacheffe with the intensity amplified.  We've already had fabulous feedback!

If you didn't manage to sample this coffee through our Coffee Prototypers programme then you have the opportunity to purchase as part of our Limited Edition Espresso series.
