Peach infusion coffee...

Peach infusion coffee...

The first edition of Coffee Prototypers left Garage Roasters on Monday...

The coffee which I roasted for the intrepid pioneers who purchased Coffee Prototypers was completely fascinating.  It was a high quality Colombian that had been infused with peach.  There are a number of methods used to infuse green coffee beans with flavour.  These methods can involve spraying/misting the beans with a flavoured solution, soaking the beans in the flavour solution, and using vacuum infusion where the beans are placed in a vacuum chamber with the flavouring agent.

The Colombian Peach Infusion coffee matches the peach aroma of whole and ground beans with that on the palate.  It's surprising and delightful.

I've had some interesting messages from customers trying some of the more wild coffee variants that I've been roasting.

KM wrote of the Colombian Nitro Maceration: "Is there an Overton window for coffee? If so I think that Nitro has shifted mine way to the left.  Seriously never had any coffee like it."

I'm going to admit that I had to Google search Overton window: "The Overton window is the range of policies politically acceptable to the mainstream population at a given time."

And AH wrote about the Colombian Peach Infusion: "Very textural and dare I say it 'peachy'.  I liked that the aroma matched the palate.  I've also honed in that for me the fruits & herbs outweigh the choc, caramel, vanilla etc."

I'll be keen to see what AH thinks of the upcoming Coffee Prototypers Colombia - Coco-Caramel Infusion!

The next edition of Coffee Prototypers needs to be ordered by August 31.
